AVW and Horder Comms On-Track With Teledelta

Horder Communication Solutions HAS recently completed an 18-month upgrade of all Broadcast fixed infrastructure for both ‘’On Course Playout’ and ‘Outside Broadcast’ facilities at 15 South Australian Race Tracks for Thoroughbred Racing SA.

AVW Broadcast has been a key partner in this project supplying Teledelta Technology RF/IP Systems, capturing and distributing OB/Satellite/Off-Air based content sourced from Racing.Com FTA Channel 78, TAB Corp’s Sky Racing, On Course TOTE information and Live Outside Broadcast, (Racing.Com), Race-day feeds. This content can be made available at virtually any location throughout each track.

Whilst adding to an already extensive number of Teledelta Info/entertainment facilities throughout Australia and New Zealand, Horder Communications Services worked in close association with AVW Broadcast in deploying flexible on-track distribution solutions commencing with a fully IPTV solution at Strathalbyn and then following with RF based upgrades at the balance of South Australian TAB meeting Racecourses. The success of Strathalbyn lead to TRSA selecting Teledelta as the core element for the remainder of their tracks, including the Gifford Hill track development at Murray Bridge SA.

Strathalbyn track’s system for example can capture Free-To-Air via a Teledelta HDS2900-4R receive unit which in turn provides an IP steam. Content from TAB Tote, Dynamic Odds and OB SDI feeds is captured via a number of Teledelta HDS2803-77R and 88R units streaming IP, all set up and system control uses the Teledelta Conductor Software.

The racecourses utilise a mix of RF Distribution and IPTV distribution with Digital Signage, this includes broadcast and betting content, integral to a reliable and effective wagering operation.

Several other Racing Tracks in Melbourne such as Flemington and Caulfield include similar AVW Teledelta Installations.
